Dear Friends, April 2007
Our God is always amazing me. I pray that I may never become indifferent to the wonderful workings of the Lord. He is truly a God of wonders and miracles. As we celebrated Easter this week I was told to “expect the unexpected”. Just as the women at Jesus’ tomb found what they didn’t expect to find, so we should expect to find the unexpected. And so we have.
New Life Bible School
Students, Saturday Chapel
A
few of you know, but many of you do not know that New Life Bible School has
been in a financial crisis since the first of the year. We have been unable to pay our teachers
properly. This is due to many things including the economic state of Haiti and
the rise in the cost of living. Many of
the students are literally unable to continue paying their bills. Although the school is subsidized by gifts
and sponsors, we do depend on the amount the students bring in to help pay the
teachers salaries. This has been a burden
on our hearts as we do believe in paying salaries in a timely manner.
So, we have been praying and asking God how and to whom we should present this need. In the mean time, God’s answer has been on its way to us! Just today we received the funds that will allow us to bring all salaries up to date! (over $3000!) We praise God for this wonderful provision! And it came from unexpected sources that were not even aware of our desperate situation! But our God knew and sent an answer before we could even ask. Our hearts are once again amazed at His wonderful working in our lives and we are confidently ‘expecting’ that He will continue to provide the necessary funds to complete the year by whatever means He sees fit to use.

We were especially blessed to spend a week in Trinidad & Tobago last month. We were invited to a missions conference held by Open Bible Tabernacle in Point Fortin, Trinidad. What a week we had! It was a blessing to share with other missionaries (from about 12 other countries) and to be on the receiving end of some great teaching. Roger had the privilege to preach in a church that his Dad had pastored while they were in Trinidad when Roger was a young teenager. It was a great time filled with many memories for him.

We had 2 visiting work teams here in March. One group ministered in our church in St Antoine, by preaching, teaching and helping the sick. They brought a doctor with them who was able to treat about 300 in the few days he was here. During the evening crusade meetings there were 9 who made a first time confession of faith. We praise God for this ministry.
Our other visitors were also a blessing. They painted and built things for a girls home in the city. They were also able to minister on Sunday in our church in Merger. This is a church they have been helping for several years now. Their building is coming along and is now partially covered. The Lord is blessing all the work there.
We are thankful, as always, for each of you and for your prayers. However, we are most thankful to be part of the body of Christ, an extension of you, serving Him in Haiti.
